Gwinnett Election Board - October Meeting Highlights
A few highlights and public comments from the October Election Board meeting.
Our Election Supervisor, Zach Manifold letting the Election Board know they have decided to NOT follow the State Election Board and Secretary of State’s recommendation to place signs at polling locations stating you must be a legal citizen to vote. Why would adding an extra reminder be an issue to avoid confusion?
In additional communication, Mr. Manifold has stated, “Non-citizens License - I would note that citizenship is not being determined by the poll official at check in. This is being determined at the time of registration and since 2012 requires an affirmation from DDS and SSA or they go to pending and must show a Registrar documentation. I believe a recently naturalized citizens could use this card as a state ID similar to out of state license is only used to ID someone.”
Recent demographic research lists somewhere between 12.66% and 13.2% in the non-citizen category for Gwinnett County.

Mr. Manifold alerting the Election Board of the Secretary of State’s GARViS (Georgia Registered Voter Information System) program and the massive “glitch” they had on October 7th (the last day to register for this election) that may/likely impact the official list of registered voters. As of October 16th, there were still many questions unanswered.
